Special Event Assistants are needed throughout the year to assist museum staff in preparing and helping the day of programs, presentations and fundraisers.
The Owensboro Area Museum of Science and History also has a Junior Volunteer program for students age 12-17. A core group of 10-15 students are chosen from applicants that show maturity, ability, and the willingness to help others. Program year runs from June until April with new applications taken in April and early May for the program. Students help with summer programs and activities, and are given the opportunity to volunteer at the museum during many of the special events that take place during the school year at the museum. Orientation and training are given to those chosen to participate in the program.
